Panda Biotech launches industrial hemp processing facility

Panda Biotech, a pioneer in the U.S. industrial hemp fiber and hurd industry, has officially launched its 500,000 square foot Panda Hemp Gin facility in Wichita Falls, Texas. The Panda Hemp Gin can process 22,000 lbs. of hemp fiber per hour, making it the largest facility of its kind in the Western Hemisphere and the second largest globally.

The Panda Hemp Gin’s engineering and production processes have been certified green by Mid-South Engineering Company and the International Capital Market Association’s Green Bond Principles for exclusively using renewable energy sources.

The facility’s grand opening was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 12. Panda Biotech president Dixie Carter highlighted CEO Robert W. Carter’s vision for a large-scale U.S. hemp processing facility.

The event was attended by notable guests including Sasson founder Paul Guez, city officials, senior executives from textile companies, regional agricultural leaders, and members of the Southern Ute Tribal Council. In 2023, Panda Biotech announced an equity partnership with the Southern Ute Indian Tribe Growth Fund.
