Notape is preparing to introduce a new tape-free zipper construction at the upcoming EOW Outdoor Trade Show in Riva del Garda. Unlike traditional zippers that attach zipper teeth onto a separate textile tape, Notape’s new technology forms the zipper teeth directly onto the fabric itself.
The company explained that this method helps reduce several manufacturing stages usually involved in zipper production, including tape weaving and sewing. According to Notape, the construction also creates water resistance naturally, without the need for additional films or coating layers.
The company also claims that the structure allows the creation of slimmer and less visible closures while still maintaining durability and strong bonding performance.
Rather than working only as a trim supplier, Notape said it is also focusing on licensing opportunities, equipment leasing, and collaborative development partnerships built around the manufacturing technology behind the system.
