Namshi joins the SAC to execute sustainability and social responsibilities

Namshi has joined the world’s leading alliance for sustainable production, the Sustainable Apparel Coalition. The fashion and beauty e-commerce platform has also launched aiming at sustainability and social responsibility. One of the initiatives taken by the brand involves replacing the delivery fleet with hybrid cars to reduce planet-harming emissions.

Hadi Badri, the Chairman at Namshi, stated that their purpose ar Namshi was to have a positive and meaningful impact on their communities. He added that the new partnership with SAC would provide them with the tools to benchmark their performance on key sustainability measures and raise the bar on their operations for the benefit of our customers and our communities. He stated that they take their leadership role in Middle East fashion and beauty e-commerce seriously, and sincerely hope that their step will inspire other retailers to embrace the cause.

Namshi looks forward to incorporating locally sourced, recycled materials into its boxes, reduce the use of excess packaging and is working to create a permanent home for sustainable brands so that eco-friendly consumers can shop without a worry.

The Sustainable Apparel Coalition is known for developing Higg Index to standardise value chains and sustainability measurements to assess environmental and social labour impacts while working towards transparency in the industry.
