Morarjee to launch protective fabrics using ViroShield

A vertically integrated textile company, Morarjee Textiles Ltd who manufactures high-end products in prints, dyed and yarn-dyed fabrics in various segments, has launched the ViroShield range of protective finishes in partnership with an Australian-based Health-Guard Corporation Pvt Ltd.

ViroShield by Morarjee claims to have met the antiviral efficacy of 99.99% on all corona starting including the popular COVID-19 as per ISO18184 antiviral test and Bacteriostatic efficacy test ISO 20743. The fabrics contain a special chemical molecule that destroys the envelope cell wall of the virus and as a result, the virus gets destroyed. This minimizes the chance of retransmission of pathogens by killing the virus and bacteria upon contact with the fabric.

Mr. Harsh Piramal, Vice-Chairman of Morarjee Textiles Ltd. stated that as a leading supplier of the premium and niche global brands they are proud to introduce the antiviral fabric ViroShield from the house of Morarjee.

This ViroShield technology is compatible with a diverse variety of textile substrates and provides protection from droplets and fluids. The finish despite being antiviral and antibacterial is also anti-odor, hygienic, skin-compatible, non-irritating, and is not impaired by hand feel.

Mr. Rajendar Rewari, the Managing Director, said that in today’s situation safe and resistant fabrics are the key to normal life and they have successfully managed to present these fabrics with anti-viral finished ViroShield range.

The company claims that the finishing would sustain for about 30 washes at 40ºC.
