Lorpen
Lorpen’s Autumn-Winter 2022-2023 collection, which is part of the Spanish Ternua Group’s outdoor technical socks company, makes use of the performance capabilities of a number of novel sustainable fibers.
MerinoDry ECO yarn, for example, combines the moisture management, quick-drying, and increased resistance properties of superfine merino wool with 100% recycled polyester. RecoverWool yarn, manufactured from recycled post-industrial wool and recycled polyester, is also included in the collection, providing an advantageous balance of thermoregulation and sweat management.
Primaloft Eco, a soft, thermally insulating, hydrophobic fibre that expels rather than absorbs moisture and is manufactured from 70% recycled materials, has been chosen as the brand’s synthetic fibre of choice.
Lorpen has also replaced regular Coolmax with Coolmax EcoMade, which is made with 97% recyclable materials and gives the same long-lasting freshness. Morpen’s T3 outdoor and mountaineering series uses Primaloft Eco and Coolmax EcoMade insulation.
Lorpen has developed two proprietary yarns based on Unifi Repreve for its T2 models: ECOTherm, which is made up of 100% recycled polyester from plastic bottles with a hollow core and has the ability to retain body heat while wicking moisture away from the skin three times faster than competing brands, and ECOFresh, which is made up of 50% Sorbtek polyester and 50% Repreve polyester and has the ability to wick moisture away from the skin three times faster than
All of Lorpen’s socks are designed and manufactured in Etxalar, Navarra, Spain.
