Linz Textil opts tailor-made, interlinked solution for producing fine premium yarns

Linz Textil, Europe’s leading manufacturer of yarn and textile fabrics for its new cotton-spinning mill being built in Landeck has opted for a solution which will combine economy and efficiency with the highest quality specifications for producing very fine premium yarns that is expected to be put into operation in mid-2015.

The contract for fitting out the new plant with a tailor-made, interlinked solution at the new cotton spinning mill has been awarded to Schlafhorst, a leader in the production of staple fibre yarns and a textile machinery manufacturer.

Alexander Hofstadler, Managing Director of Linz Textil said that they have to impress customers with a level of quality that exceeds all expectations. At the same time, peak productivity is paramount for ensuring commercial success. This is why they chose to build their new cotton-spinning mill with a partner that has comprehensive fibre-to-fabric expertise and in whom they have placed their trust for over 20 years: Schlafhorst.

The fully automated system solution comprises 17 Zinser 351 2Impact FX compact spinning machines with over 26,000 spindles.

The roving is transferred from the Zinser 670 roving frame to the compact spinning machines via the Zinser FixFlow roving bobbin transport system with CimTrack 1.

A fully automated link with the up-to-date material flow system connects the compact spinning machines with the latest generation of Autoconer winding machines. These are equipped with the PreciFX digital displacement technology. The Plant Control System from Schlafhorst is said to provide a constant overview of all production and quality data of the highly integrated yarn production process.

Linz Textil Holding, an Austrian holding company, through its subsidiary Linz Textil, produces viscose, cotton, tencel, modal, mircro modal and blended yarns, technical fabrics and a range of gray cloth for home textiles including fabrics for curtains, upholstery, sun protection systems and bedlinen, and outerwear cotton fabrics for men’s fashion and technical applications.
