Lenzing unveils high-quality circular fabrics

The Lenzing Group, a leader in regenerated cellulosic fibers for textiles and nonwovens, has introduced new fabric blends designed to tackle a key challenge in circular fashion, maintaining top-tier quality while using significant amounts of recycled content. Working with key manufacturing partners, Lenzing has shown how its responsibly sourced and resource-efficiently made TENCEL Lyocell fibers can improve the consistency of fabrics made with mechanically recycled natural fibers.

“With more brands aiming to include recycled materials, there’s a growing need for practical solutions that maintain quality,” said Carlo Covini, Textile Accounts Manager for Italy and Switzerland at Lenzing. “By combining the reliable quality and environmental benefits of our TENCEL Lyocell fibers with recycled cotton, silk, and wool, we’re helping brands achieve circularity without sacrificing product standards.”

The outcome includes a variety of new applications: premium knits with TENCEL Lyocell A100 blended with recycled silk, wool, or cashmere, apparel fabrics that pair TENCEL Lyocell LF with recycled cotton in varying amounts, and advanced fabrics that combine Cradle to Cradle-Certified elastane ROICA V550 with TENCEL and recycled fibers.

“This project has allowed us to take our mechanical fiber recycling expertise further,” said Alberto Grosso, Business Development Manager at Marchi & Fildi Group. “Working with global leaders gives us a chance to develop yarns suited to modern market needs.”

“We’re pleased to be part of Lenzing’s collaborative projects. Using recycled silk with TENCEL™ blends sustainability with luxury — a valuable offering we hope brands will embrace,” shared Giovanna Maggia, Board Director at Maglificio Maggia.
