During Milan Design Week, Kia introduced its Vision Meta Turismo concept car. The design reimagines a 1960s saloon, combining a classic, elegant shape with a forward-looking, digital and human-focused approach. Both the interior and selected exterior parts use ampliTex natural fibre composites developed by Bcomp.

According to Bcomp, the use of ampliTex demonstrates that natural fibre composites can go beyond niche applications. The material is compatible with large-scale manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, allowing it to fit into existing production systems. It also offers a variety of colours, weaves, and finishes, giving designers more creative flexibility. Interior components made from ampliTex can be designed for recyclability, while exterior parts can support energy recovery at the end of their life.

The Vision Meta Turismo was developed as a design study by Kia to explore new ideas and materials. While it is not intended for direct production, it reflects the brand’s efforts to push design boundaries and could influence future models.

By using ampliTex in components such as bumpers, Kia is testing how bio-based materials can be applied to exterior parts while maintaining durability and a natural appearance.
