JBF Petrochemicals signs agreement with OMPL for supply of Paraxylene

JBF Petrochemicals a step down subsidiary of JBF Industries, who is one of the leading Polyester value chain company`s not only in India and abroad has entered into a Long Term Agreement for supply of Paraxylene, the main raw material for production of Purefied Terephthalic Acid (PTA) with ONGC Mangalore Petrochemicals (OMPL).

The agreement entails supply of Paraxylene by OMPL to JBF Petrochemicals for a period of 10 years, with provision of further increasing the period of supply by another 5 to 10 years by mutual consent.

Paraxylene will be supplied by OMPL to JBF Petrochemicals, through a dedicated pipeline about 3 km in length.

JBF Petrochemicals will be using technology from BP in the process of commissioning a 1.25 million tonnes per annum PTA plant at Mangalore SEZ, Karnataka. BP and JBF Petrochemicals have signed an agreement for licensing BPs latest generation purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) technology.

JBF Industries is amongst the top five Domestic market leaders in textile grade chips, bottle grade chips and Partially Oriented Yarn. Internationally also, JBF is amongst the top ten manufacturers of bottle grade chips and polyester films. JBF’s brand value has made its products well accepted with a majority of domestic customers as well as many multinational corporations.
