Haelixa, a Swiss-based traceability solutions company, has joined the global alliance of more than 50 businesses working to produce denim more circularly.

Haelixa has joined the Denim Deal, which is based in Amsterdam and consists of more than 50 worldwide corporate and public sector companies working for a circular economy and the eradication of textile waste.

The company and its manufacturing partners promise to make 3 million pairs of denim jeans with 20% recycled post-consumer cotton and strive toward using 5% recycled post-consumer cotton in all upcoming denim collections.

Holly Berger, Haelixa’s marketing director, said that they are committed to encouraging the usage of recycled fibers through traceability and happy to join this group. The Denim Deal's objectives align with its vision of a circular economy.

The DNA solution from Haelixa identifies and tracks fibers from production to distribution. The company says it validates claims by testing the finished garment to confirm that the designated waste is present and uses DNA to mark the recycled post-consumer cotton.

Roosmarie Ruigrok, the coordinator of the Denim Deal, added that a circular supply chain in the textile sector is like a well-oiled machine. It makes sure that every step of the production process—from finding post-consumer materials to giving clients well-made finished products—runs without a hitch. It promotes sustainable behaviors, increases stakeholder trust, and increases efficiency and profitability. They are pleased to have Haelixa, who provides a reliable traceability solution.
