Gore-Tex launches ‘Outerwear On Demand’ outerwear rental service

Outerwear brand Gore-Tex, has launched a new performance apparel rental scheme ‘Outerwear On Demand’, to make snow sports more accessible to consumers.

Through the brand’s new Outerwear on Demand garment rental program, the customers will be allowed to rent Gore-Tex snowsports apparel at 15 different resort and retail locations across North America. The program is planned to expand to more places in the coming seasons.

Gore-Tex’s Outerwear on Demand was intended to provide consumers with unrivaled GORE-TEX technology when and where they need it the most. Each piece in the Outerwear on Demand collection is a one-of-a-kind Gore-Tex garment designed in-house to withstand the demands of the user as well as the stresses of a high-usage and cleaning frequency rental environment.

Outerwear on Demand is the ideal answer for families and tourists who want to save the stress of packing while yet enjoying the latest in technology and convenience while on vacation. Similarly, the program is suitable for infrequent skiers and snowboarders who are not yet ready to invest in their own equipment.

Outerwear on Demand provides an alternative for those who prefer “usership” to “ownership,” a goal that is achievable thanks to the Gore-Tex brand’s renowned reliability and longevity, as well as a custom design that allows individual areas of the garment to be replaced or repaired between uses if necessary.

Each mix-and-match top and bottom provide thoughtful details such as adaptable fit features, integrated snow barriers and ventilation elements, RECCO® reflectors, patented Cohaesive™ Drawcord System, Primaloft® Silver insulation, and more. Each piece is made of GORE-TEX fabric and offers the GORE-TEX GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY™ waterproof guarantee, windproofness, and excellent breathability, giving optimal comfort, performance, and style in a variety of conditions.

The Gore-Tex brand provides clothing inventory services for each trusted partner as part of the program. Following a rental, each garment will go through a thorough, multi-point inspection procedure before being cleaned locally to reduce the carbon footprint of shipping and repackaged for the next usage.

Customers will have several options for finding their garment rental through the partner of their choice, including online and in-store alternatives, as well as easy in-store pickup at any of the 15 convenient participating locations.

Chris Brennan, Product Specialist – Innovation, Fabrics Division, said that Gore-Tex Outerwear on Demand is the best choice for user convenience, performance to match specific conditions, and the next step in making it easier than ever to enjoy legendary GORE technology without owning or transporting multiple garments. They set out to design a very technical, very durable range of apparel that will withstand regular usage and cleaning, offering consumers with the Gore-Tex Product Experience as well as a practical alternative to purchasing when it comes to outfitting oneself for winter adventure.
