Freudenberg Performance Materials has launched Tacnera, a new technology designed for silicone foam dressings used in advanced wound care. Unlike traditional silicone adhesive layers, Tacnera combines polyurethane foam, a special coating technology, and soft silicone gel. This combination provides a balance between secure adhesion and gentle removal, reducing the risk of skin damage during dressing changes.

Tacnera-based foam dressings use two types of silicone within a single product. One provides firm adhesion around the edges, while the other creates a soft central area that protects sensitive skin and newly formed tissue.

Dr Oliver Heneric stated that Tacnera represents a new approach by combining strong fixation, gentle removal, reliable function, and commercial value in one solution.
