Ecotec, first new smart cotton to officially debuts in Feb 2016

Marchi & Fildi, Piedmont, Italy based leading international textile company that produces both traditional and modern yarns made from materials such as wool, cotton, flax and silk has introduced Ecotec, the first smart cotton to the market as a new generation of cotton yarns which will make its officially debut during the February 2016 edition of Première Vision Yarns to be held in Paris.

Ecotec, smart cotton is made in Italy through a process that transforms 100 percent cotton pre-dyed textile clippings into high-quality cotton yarns.

Ecotec is available as a stock service in a range of colors with current fashion nuances ready to order. There is also the possibility to supply customized
colors and yarn in partnership projects with the Marchi & Fildi R&D centre, where new ideas and applications are created to meet market and customer demands.

Marchi & Fildi was founded in 2007 by the merging of Filatura Marchi Giovanni and Fildi, two companies that strongly characterised Biella’s economy. Marchi & Fildi has a productive power of 11m kilos of yarn per year, split among four product-categories: knitwear yarn, weaving yarn, technical yarn and ecological yarn.
