Econyl launches B2C platform for conscious consumers

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2021-08-02 07:41:09 – Italy

Sustainable textile manufacturer Aquafil has launched an ECONYL® shoppable platform, allowing conscious customers to purchase items manufactured with ECONYL® Regenerated Nylon in one place for the first time.

Users will be able to browse worldwide companies that utilize Econyl Regenerated Nylon, as well as learn more about the innovative fiber and the larger issues of sustainability and circularity, on the new e-shop.

The platform was created in response to current market developments, such as digitization, internet sales, and long-term viability. Initially beginning with 15 products, Aquafil intends to expand the ECONYL® e-shop to include more environmentally conscious companies who share the company's values and ambition for a better future.

The platform will initially launch products from various categories such as swimwear, womenswear, menswear, and accessories, from brands including Aisy dance, ACE, Aoife, Botanical Beach Babes, C'est la V, Dos Gardenias, Garmont, Karün, Ludovica Gualtieri Milano, Mermazing, Malaika New York, Pacsafe, State Of Matter, Tenue De Soleil, and WAO.

Each product on the e-shop is categorized under categories such as Vegan, Zero Waste, Eco Design, Ethical Labor, Healthy Seas Member, Size-Inclusive, and Local Production. In the future, Aquafil plans to grow to additional "sustainably-minded" enterprises.

Customers will be able to purchase while simultaneously learning more about sustainability. The new-look ECONYL® platform will provide a variety of educational content to help consumers gain a better understanding of a number of sustainability subjects while also combating misleading and confusing information.

Topics will cover, for example, what happens to clothes when they are thrown away, how fashion businesses can reach zero waste, how we can reduce, reuse, and recycle as customers, and what are the UN SDGs and how we can participate as people.

Giulio Bonazzi, CEO and Chairman of Aquafil, said that in this extremely tough historical period, they’re looking to the future with quite different eyes. They moved outside of their comfort zone, something they are quite familiar with. They want to build a community where individuals can discuss their beliefs and aspirations for a better future. They envisage a long-term future guided by the duty to impact the world one decision at a time.

ECONYL®, founded by The Aquafil Group, has been providing more responsible solutions for the fashion and interior sector for the past ten years and is utilized by companies all over the world, from Burberry and Prada to Adidas and Speedo.
