Eastman unveils sustainable fiber solution

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2025-04-18 16:08:01 – USA

Eastman has unveiled Naia On The Move, a high-performance, sustainable fibre engineered for activewear and urban lifestyles. Launched at the Functional Fabric Fair in Portland, this innovative development expands the capabilities of Naia’s cellulosic fibre portfolio, merging comfort, performance, and eco-conscious design.

Crafted using Eastman’s molecular recycling technology, Naia On The Move is composed of 60% sustainably sourced wood pulp and 40% recycled waste materials. Certified by the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) through mass balance, this cellulose acetate staple fibre offers a significantly reduced environmental impact.

Specifically designed for light sports and everyday movement, Naia On The Move provides exceptional next-to-skin comfort, breathability, and rapid moisture-wicking. Third-party tests reveal that the fibre outperforms polyester in both moisture management and odour control, even at lower blend ratios.

“Naia On The Move was born from a clear need in the market for materials that move with the rhythm of people’s lives,” said Chad Doub, Global Segment Leader of Staple Fibres at Eastman. “It merges everyday comfort with technical performance for people constantly on the go.”
