Delta Global offers sustainable packaging solutions

As sustainability and innovation take the spotlight Delta Global has created an innovative, eco-friendly packaging solution for high-end fashion mystery box services Heat.

Both the brands collaboration aims to strengthen the commitment towards responsible practices and mitigating the fashion industry’s impact on climate change.

This move has come in the urgency under a list of growing designer brands that recognise the need to action. The eco-friendly packaging has typically included the elimination of plastic lamination and the introduction of compostable materials.

The Delta Global’s design for Heat has taken sustainable luxury packaging one step ahead. The brief given to Heat included a fully recyclable luxury box that used the Delta Global’s unique magnetic removal system and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) materials.

Robert Lockyer, chief executive of Delta Global explained that despite the packaging being made recyclable, many luxury packaging boxes have magnetic closure systems that restrict recyclability at end of their lives

He further stated that they have developed a design with a removal technique that utilises perforation points built in the box. Once the customer removes the magnets the box can be flattened and completely recyclable.

Joe Wilkinson, managing director of Heat stated that the partnership was a part of a wider rebrand that aimed to elevate its luxury position.

He stated that they were pleased with the final design as it is simplistic, sturdy and encourages a second life through reuse and repurposing which has only added value to their sustainability efforts.

Detail Global stated its part in the manufacturing of the boxes has raised part of the company’s commitment to providing packaging solutions that reinforce its key pillars of luxury, sustainability, e-commerce and innovation.
