Claras Materials LLC to strengthen textile supply for recycling

Claras Materials LLC has announced its launch as a specialised supply chain company focused on post-consumer textile raw materials. The company aims to support the growing chemical recycling and fibre-to-fibre (T2T) sectors, which often face challenges in securing consistent and well-sorted raw materials at scale.

The company’s approach starts at the sourcing stage, where it selects post-consumer textiles from global used clothing markets based on fibre composition. The materials are then sorted using near-infrared (NIR) technology to ensure accuracy.

Clean, single-fibre bales such as 100% polyester, 100% cotton, and 100% wool, along with mixed fibres for mechanical recycling, are prepared and supplied to recycling partners worldwide. Any hardware components are removed before baling, ensuring the materials are ready for processing.

Claras Materials LLC is led by Patrick Mullen, a professional with 37 years of experience in textile recycling, particularly in cotton and polyester-cotton blends. His expertise in global fibre markets supports the company’s ability to source and deliver suitable materials for advanced recycling processes.
