The Italian Warp knit specialist Cifra has enforced a patented Warp Knit Seamless technology for beach apparel applications. The technology can also be applied to a number of new fabric innovations, also offers sustainably produced apparel. 

Cifra stated that the snag-resistant swimwear in 3D Warp Knit Seamless was a game-changer when compared to traditional weft knit seamless garments on the market. This technology allows knitters to utilise a sophisticated body mapping technology to on positive and negative spaces and patterns, enhancing the figure with a variety of designs.

WKS warp knit beachwear is viewed as seamless, snug and quick-drying for total comfort and also has the unique ability to be run-proof. The company stated that the company’s new offering made the common needs more comfortable and versatile. The seamless garments have been designed to be worn throughout the day also as lingerie bodysuits.

The new beachwear concept also addresses sustainability as a key issue of Cifra’s R&D. The offer features products knitted both in premium polyamide 6.6 and in pre and post-consumer recycled yarns such as Radici Group’s Renycle, a polyamide 6 obtained from production waste. It also includes Aquafil’s Econyl, which has been made form recovered plastics from ocean waste. Both are combined with an elastomer which is also recycled. 

Cifa stated that in the aim of sustainability from the sea and in support of the sea their designs grew in concept and innovation. The company has gained traction by producing garments for private labels for over 20 years with production mainly taking place on raschel jacquard machines. Some articles produced include tights, leggings, knee-highs as well as seamless garments for underwear, outwear and sportswear.

The Milan-based company is also responsible for running a Seamless Smart machine after becoming one of the first European companies to take delivery of the system back in 2008.
