Birla Cellulose, Circulose strengthen recycling with 100% textile waste

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2025-12-18 14:21:33 – India

Birla Cellulose, the cellulosic fibre business of the Aditya Birla Group, has entered into a cooperation agreement with Circulose to support textile recycling through the use of pulp made entirely from textile waste.

Under the agreement, the two companies will work together to speed up textile recycling efforts. Circulose will supply recycled pulp produced from 100 percent textile waste, which Birla Cellulose will use to manufacture and supply textile fibres across the value chain.

Vadiraj Kulkarni, Business Head of Birla Cellulose, said the collaboration represents an important step in promoting sustainable and responsible sourcing. He added that the partnership reinforces the company’s commitment to offering high-quality and sustainability-focused fibre solutions that support customers and contribute to a circular textile economy.

Jonatan Janmark, Chief Executive Officer of Circulose, said the company has spent the past year refining its approach by placing brands at the centre of its strategy, with the goal of enabling wider adoption of recycled materials. He noted that closer collaboration with key value-chain partners is essential, and described the partnership with Birla Cellulose as a key part of this strategy, expressing enthusiasm about working together.
