Better Cotton, IDH, and Cotontchad are working together to promote open discussions about the challenges and opportunities for sustainable agriculture in Chad's cotton sector. In Chad's capital, N'Djamena, a diverse group of stakeholders, including representatives from national ministries, cotton farmers, private sector entities, and civil society organizations, gathered for a multistakeholder event focused on the region's cotton industry.

Pramit Chanda, global director of textiles and manufacturing at IDH, reiterated the initiative's commitment to supporting sustainable development in Chad's cotton-growing region. The collaboration with Cotontchad and Better Cotton aims to benefit nearly 200,000 farmers, strengthening international market linkages.

Oliver Renson, CEO at Cotontchad, expressed their commitment to enhancing the sustainability of Chadian cotton, aligning with Better Cotton's goals. The meeting aims to determine the necessary steps to create a conducive environment for continued support to the country's cotton farming communities.
