Beantown creators launch “laundry-free” pillowcases to save resources

In order to provide an extraordinary bedding experience, Beantown Bedding creators, who first curated biodegradable non-woven bed sheets in 2012, are now ready to promote their new line of pillowcases infused with essential oils. Their discovery – Infusionzzz is composed of hydroentangled spun lace fabric that is USDA certified as 100% bio-based. The fabric used is Lenzing’s Tencel fiber in a 99.7% non-toxic closed-loop process. Those fibers also comparatively consume 70% less land to grow, less water, and offer 10% of the yield of cotton. It provides an alternative solution to the laundry that is discarding, which in turn is time-efficient and also saves other resources.  In Infusionzzz,  the fibers are bonded together under high hydro hydraulic pressure and they are microencapsulated with essential and aromatic oils.

Kristen Lambert, CEO and co-founder of Beantown Bedding, affirms that Infusionzzz is the material used in their upcoming collection with microencapsulation technology to inculcate aromatic and freshening properties to the pillowcases in order to provide the customers a heavenly experience.

In their promotional campaigns, at first, the company came up with the scents named Booze Snooze infused with peppermint and rosemary which dictated some health beneficiary and healing properties, Face Time infused with sea kelp to promote clear skin, and Inhale Yeah infused with menthol and eucalyptus scents for curing a cold and flu. After that, they aimed at forming new Infusionzzz with beauty and health benefits.

After conducting a survey, they learned that for an everyday working person or a school kid it was very difficult and time-consuming to wash their dirty sheets, Lambert and Joan Ripple added that they came up with the idea of laundry-free eco-compostable bedsheets, also able to fight the bacteria and allergens for a long time; and with the help of their subscription services new sheets were delivered in the hand of the customer, so even the time for shopping new product was being saved.

It had a kickoff start 8 years ago, catering to a huge target population of college campuses in a B2B model but faced a tough time when a pandemic hit globally. But along with the tough times, came an opportunity for them to serve in the healthcare sector. Their newly designed online model is now catering to numerous healthcare communities and high-profile hospitals where demand is high in order to use the textile products which can control infection and can be used in emergency management. Lambert adds this demand is only increasing every day and is allowing them to stay sustained and committed in this pandemic.
