ARKET becomes the first H&M Group brand to commercially market a SPINNOVA® product. The product is a delicate blend of 18% SPINNOVA® fiber and 82% more sustainably sourced cotton that is a recreation of ARKET’s iconic men’s overshirt in a classic light grey. ARKET’s modern overshirt is minimally decorated and cut with additional leeway to layer over shirts or knits as a versatile alternative to tailored jackets. The shirt is now available online and at select stores in limited quantities.

SPINNOVA® is textile fiber made of sustainably sourced wood, without harmful chemicals. It emits fewer CO2 emissions, consumes 99% less water, and contains no microplastics than conventional cotton production.

The first commercial-scale facility for Spinnova will be finished in Finland by the end of this year. Spinnova wants to develop its global production to one million tonnes of sustainable fiber yearly in the next 10-12 years, with the help of its investor and joint venture partner Suzano, offering global fashion companies and retailers a versatile and sustainable fiber at scale.
