In China, semi-dull FDY70D/24F prices were up US cents 3 a kg in the second week of July while FDY40D were flat on the week. Nylon DTY 70D/24F prices were up US cents 4 a kg while 30D/10F rolled over during the week. Nylon staple fiber 1.5D prices were unchanged while monofilament 30D prices were stable during the week.

Nylon filament yarn prices tended to move upward on the back of higher nylon chip and caprolactum cost, with low?end goods less available. Facing heavy operational pressure, some producers are expected to carry out mild production cutbacks in Q3 with slack season drawing near.

Warp?knitting, weaving and AJ covering sector witnessed moderate liquidity and operated at 60% of full capacity while circular?knitting mills and lacing mills reduced operating rate to 30%. However, rigid demand will lend support nylon yarn markets in August?September.
