YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2016-08-09 05:58:15 –

In China, semi-dull FDY70D/24F prices were up US cents 2-3 a kg in the last week of July while FDY40D were stable during the week. Nylon DTY 70D/24F prices were up US cents 5 a kg while 30D/10F rose US cents 8 a kg on the week. Nylon staple fiber 1.5D prices were flat while monofilament 30D prices were steady during the week.

Nylon filament yarn prices were hiked to cover losses amid firmer caprolactum and nylon chip costs. Yarn makers cut operating rates while buyers made smaller replenishment, contributing to better fundamentals. Run rate at nylon yarn makers was at 65% amid cautious mentality.

Facing negative margins, some suppliers carried out production cutbacks amid slack season. During the G20 Summit, heavy production cuts will be imposed on Xiaoshan?based plants and mills.

Overall, nylon yarn markets will edge up on high cost pressure in coming weeks as rigid demand and increased replenishment will lend support to nylon yarn market in August? September.
