Nylon price rises amid firm raw material cost

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2016-09-20 02:59:38 –

In China, FDY70D/24F SD prices were up US cents 3 a kg in the first week of August while FDY40D were also hiked US cents 3 a kg on the week.

DTY 70D/24F prices also rose US cents 5 a kg while 30D/10F were up US cents 8 a kg on the week. Monofilament 30D prices remained flat while nylon staple fiber 1.5D prices were stable during the week.

Nylon filament yarn prices rose higher on existing poor margins amid firmer raw material cost. Nylon yarn makers increase production, which worked against propping the market up. In September, supply/demand fundamentals will be tolerable with some procurement from downstream.

Warp?knitting, weaving and AJ covering sector witnessed smooth liquidity while circular?knitting and lacing mills operated at low run rate. With the slack season ending soon, producers will stockpile products. Performance was moderate in staple fiber, fishing?net yarn and monofilament markets.
