Caprolactum prices rise on modest downstream buying

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2017-12-12 13:01:40 –

In China, spot liquid good offers were up US$58 a ton in the last week of November while solid goods were up US$43 a ton on the week. CPL offers moved up slightly week on week amid modest buying interest from the downstream.

Caprolactum prices in Asia rose that week, however, there was ample supply as plants operated at higher run rates during the week. Luxi Chemical started its 200,000 tons a year CPL new line on 28 November 2017, and products were to be yielded around the weekend of the week ended 3 December.

Overall, CPL market is likely to stabilize given firm benzene market while supply is expected to increase in coming weeks.
