Caprolactum prices remain firm in Asia

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2018-01-04 07:21:06 –

The SE and FE Asian caprolactum markers on the lower end were stable in the third week of December. In China, spot liquid good offers were largely unchanged as compared to last week while solid goods were firm on the week.

Caprolactum prices in Asia were firm despite weakening benzene market during the week. In China, CPL offers were mostly stable that week while plant run rates fell to 81.9%.

Meanwhile, Lanhua Sci-Tech reduced the rates of its CPL plant to 50% from 25 December 2017 for one week due to feedstock issue. Juhua went for a 15-day maintenance of its 100,000 tons per year CPL plant from 19 December.

Overall, CPL prices are likely to fluctuate slightly down in coming weeks.
