Blended yarn price slips on weak demand in India

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2016-10-17 08:11:57 –

In Qianqing, PC (65/35) 32s yarn prices were stable in the first week of October while 45s PC combed yarn prices rolled over during the week. 32s PV (65/35) were steady on the week.

Blended yarn prices remained stable in China and Pakistan while they slid slightly in India on weak demand. In China, local fabric market picked up somewhat, thus yarn spinners ramped up the run rates as prices had also bottomed out ahead of the National Day holidays that week.

In Pakistan, many spinning mills were shifting production to the polyester-viscose yarns in order to take advantage of the seasonal demand for this category of yarns.

In India, PV yarn prices fell slightly on the week, despite PSF and VSF prices remained unchanged while PC yarn prices rolled over on recent firmness in cotton prices. 30s (65/35) PV warp yarns fell INR1 a kg (down US cent 1) in Indore market while PC 30s (52/48) prices in Ludhiana rolled over on the week.
