Asian ASF markets stabilizes amid lackluster demand

Taiwan origin 3D bright ASF tow offers were flat in the fourth week of June while offers for regular products rolled over during the week.

In China, medium-length staple fiber and cotton-type staple prices remained unchanged on the week.

Acrylic staple fibre markets saw cost support fading, as the uptrend in acrylonitrile prices slowed down while downstream demand was still lackluster. In China, ASF producers continued to run at reduced rates, to relieve inventory pressure.

Participants who were bullish earlier, were now frustrated by weaker?than?expected yarn and fabric markets. The off?season characteristics were more distinct after the Dragon Boat Festival, seeing weaker?than?expected orders from end-users.

Prices in India were on a roll over, as producers prices remained unchanged. ASF offers were up US cent 1 a kg due to weak US$ on the week.

Similarly, prices in Pakistan remained flat on the week.
