YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2015-11-05 07:33:42 –

In the fourth week of October, offers for cotton-type staple fiber in China were stable at US$2.11-2.22 a kg while medium-length staple were at US$2.12-2.22 a kg, both rolling over.

Jilin Chemical Fiber’s list prices for 1.5D were down for October at US$2.22 a kg, 3D medium-length at US$2.22 a kg, tow at US$2.30 a kg and top at US$2.44 a kg.

3D bright ASF tow of Taiwan origin was down US cents 7 a kg on the week on the upper end of price range. They had fallen US cents 20 in the previous week.

Acrylic staple fiber prices fell sharply reflecting the fall in acrylonitrile entering October all over the world.

In China, most ASF suppliers continued to hold offers stable while offering discounts on firm deals.

Demand was also weak as downstream yarn makers had not received much orders recently given lusterless end-user demand.

Prices in India and Pakistan rolled over, but were not firm since downstream buying interest was cautious.

In Pakistan, 1.2D ASF prices rolled over at PakRs.240 a kg (US$2.30 a kg).

In India, ASF offers were flat at INR140-144 a kg or US$2.17-2.23 a kg.
