ASF price declines amid cautious buying

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2015-11-19 04:47:20 –

In the first week of November, Taiwan origin 3D bright ASF tow prices declined US cents 5 a kg on the week.

In China, offers for cotton-type staple fiber were steady at US$1.95-2.07 a kg while medium-length staple were at US$1.96-2.07 a kg.

Jilin Chemical Fiber’s list prices for November was stable with 1.5D at US$2.07 a kg, 3D medium-length at US$2.06 a kg, tow at US$2.14 a kg and top at US$2.28 a kg.

Acrylic staple fibre markets witnessed insipid discussion atmosphere as downstream mills were more cautious purchasing on the back of lackluster order-intakes.

In China, major producers rolled over November list prices despite ACN prices climbing amid tight supply.

Downstream, buying interest was not active as a whole.

Mills were less wait-and-see, seeing stable list prices from mainstream producers, whose margins further eroded by the uptrend of upstream ACN.

In India, ASF offers recovered INR2 to INR129-131 a kg or US$1.96-2.01 a kg, up US cent 1 on the week.

Prices in India were revised upwards partially recovering from the significant fall last week.

Prices in Pakistan generally rolled over.
