First textile mill to come up with investment by Taiwanese group in Vietnam

Tai Yuen Co. Ltd, a subsidiary company of the Taiwan-based Yunlon Group, who operates from the upstream to downstream vertically from spinning, dyeing to garment business has part of its expansion plan will be constructing a textile mill in Dong Van II Industrial Park, Duy Tien district, Vietnam on around 24 hectare of land. This will be the first textile mill with an investment by the Taiwanese group in Ha Nam province of Vietnam.

The project involves investment to the tune of US$150 million (RM488.48 million) and will require nearly 5,000 workers for its operation. The construction of textile mill is expected to begin in August and schedule for completion in 12 months.

The Vietnam government has ensured a stable water supply for the factory as the mill on once operation in its first phase will require about 1,500 cubic metres of water for its daily operation and later would require around 2,500 cubic metres of water.

The company in turn has give assurance to treat waste produced by the plant in accordance with Vietnam's environmental standards.
