Polyester yarn price rolls over in Asian markets

In Qianqing, offers for 32s polyester yarn prices remained unchanged in the first week of February and those for 45s were stable in Shengze.

Polyester spun yarn prices were stable amid thin transaction in China. Many spun polyester yarn plants remained closed for Lunar New Year holidays and enquiring atmosphere was mild amid hindered logistics.

In India, polyester yarn producers could however found difficulty in maintaining prices at current levels, as a result of a sharp fall yarn exports to China.

PTA price gains on rising demand in Asia

Asian PTA markers gained US$10 a ton CFR China and CFR Southeast in the first week of February.

In China, selling ideas for nearby-month goods were at US$550-555 a ton, and counter offers at US$535 a ton or slightly lower. Bonded goods on one-day trip were traded at US$545 a ton.

Yisheng Petrochemical’s cash-based daily prices ranged between US$542-552 a ton, down US$3 from last week while Hengli Petrochemical issued self-lifting offers at US$585 a ton, down US$5.

ASF prices stable amid modest demand in Asia

In the first week of February, Taiwan origin 3D bright ASF tow prices rolled over at US$1.60-1.70 a kg while offers for regular products were partially at US$1.56-1.60 a kg.

In China, medium-length staple fiber prices were at US$1.79-2.01 a kg while cotton-type staple was at US$1.80-2.01 a kg, both rolling over from last week.

Jilin Chemical Fiber maintained its February list prices for 1.5D and 3D medium-length at US$2.00-2.01 a kg, while tow was at US$2.09 a kg and top at US$2.24 a kg.

Textiles Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar said that New National Textile Policy is close to finalization and to be issued before the end of April, 2016 during the budget session of the Lok Sabha. Acrylonitrile price declines amid thin trading activity

Asian acrylonitrile marker, the CFR Far East Asia was down US$15 a ton while Southeast Asia was down US$25 a ton in the first week of February.

In China, offers for offshore cargoes were stable at US$1,000-1,050 a ton CFR China. In East China, domestic prices stood at 7,800-7,900 Yuan a ton.

Acrylonitrile prices in Asian markets were flat to lower week on the week amid thin activity and ample cargoes which Chinese market was closing for a long Lunar New Year holidays.

With some leading buyers indulged in fresh buying ahead of the Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) fortnightly report due shortly, trading activity on the cotton market witnessed improved on Wednesday, according to market sources.

In the ready business, about 4000 bales of cotton changed hands between Rs 4700 to Rs 5600, dealers said.

However, the official spot rate remained unchanged at Rs 5,350. While, in Sindh, prices of seed cotton remained between Rs 1600 and Rs 2800, in the Punjab, rates were at Rs 2000 and Rs 3000.

Diplomatic ties makes US, Vietnam's top trade partner

With Vietnam and the US normalizing their diplomatic ties, the bilateral trade between the two countries has expanded from zero to US$36.3 billion in 2014. This figure is further expected to reach $40 billion by the end of this financial year.

Nguyen Duy Khien, head of the American Market Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), said that Vietnam shipped $30.6 billion worth of goods to the US in 2014, up 24 per cent against the previous year.
