Texhong Textile on path to build textile industry chain platform in Vietnam

Texhong Textile Group a Hongkong based company and one of the world’s largest core spun yarn suppliers, as part of its expansion plan to develop a textile industrial chain platform in Vietnam.

The company has also entered into an agreement with Wah Fung Group, under which the company will invest in the latter. Besides, the two companies will also jointly develop a knitting and dyeing business in Vietnam — a crucial step for Texhong on its path to build a textile industry chain platform.

Blended yarn prices climb in India, stable in China, Pakistan

In India, prices have remained firm in the first week of March with PC prices slightly gaining. 30s (65/35) PV warp yarn prices were up US cents 2 a kg in Indore market. In Ludhiana, PC 30s (52/48) prices gained US cents 5 a kg due to strong INR.

In Qianqing, PC (65/35) 32s yarn prices rolled over while 45s PC combed yarn prices were stable during the week.

Firm fibre prices kept blended yarn values stable that week in China and Pakistan while they gained in India also supported by the currency appreciation against the US$.

Viscose yarn price rises again in India, China

In China, prices of 40s compact siro-spun yarn in Jiangsu were up US cents 6 a kg in the first week of March while 30s spun viscose in Xiaoshan were up US cents 3 a kg. Cash-based offers for ring-spun 30s yarn were up US cents 4 a kg on the week.

Spun viscose yarn prices were driven up by firmer VSF sentiment in China. Offers ring-spun 30s and siro-spun 40s yarn were mostly hiked touching high-end of market levels.

India provides loan of Sh3bn to Rivatex for new machinery

Indian government through the Exim Bank has provided the Rift Valley Textile (Rivatex) East African Limited a Sh3 billion loan to buy new machinery for the factory.

Speaking on Saturday after visiting the Rivatex factory in Eldoret, the Indian High Commissioner to Kenya Suchitra Durai further assured that India will continue supporting various fields at the factory adding that they will offer technological transfer in some areas to the Rivatex factory.

A four-day powerloom textile mela has been conducted by the regional office of the Textile Commissioner (Guntur), a unit working under the Union Ministry of Textiles, in Tirupati. A decade ago, Uganda produced 254,000 bales of cotton annually, each weighing 185kg.
