Pepe Jeans London a denim and casual wear jeans brand which has 200 stores at present in India, plans to increase it to 450 to 500 in both metro cities and growing tier II & III places, while putting more focus on its own branded outlets. The idea is to double sales in India between Rs1,400 to Rs1,500 crore in the next three years on the back of foray into new categories such as footwear and kids-wear besides store expansion, said Pepe Jeans India CEO Kavindra Mishra.

India to promote investment in CLMV countries like Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam as well as offer cost rationalization will be setting up business clusters for small-medium scale industries. This is the new thrust of the government through EXIM Bank of India.

Under a cluster based approach, the country will be setting up clusters of small-medium enterprises not only in India but outside as well, said bank chairman and managing director Yaduvendra Mathur during the FICCI Banking Conclave here.

Silk fabric exporters are looking for incentives for the industry to remain competitive as raw silk, which is imported from China, was becoming costlier. Union Minister of State for Textile, Santosh Gangwar addressing a national workshop on Integrated Skill Development Scheme in New Delhi on Thursday said the Indian textile industry needs a total of six crore skilled people by 2022.

Gangwar, underscoring the importance of skill development said that the new government under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought change in mind set. The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship is a step in this direction.

Ethylene prices tanked in the second week of August as supply glut continued to plaque all markets. Asian ethylene prices sank as glut hinders buying activity. The CFR NEA prices hit their lowest since end-February as market concerns centered on volatile crude oil prices. The CFR Northeast Asia marker plunged US$131 a ton on the week while SE Asia fell US$100 a ton CFR.
