Viscose yarn price rises in Pakistan, stable in India, China

In China, prices of 40s compact sirospun yarn in Jiangsu rolled over in the second week of May while 30s spun viscose in Xiaoshan remained unchanged. Offers for ring-spun 30s yarn also rolled over on the week.

Viscose spun yarn market was largely stable in China, with offers largely soft to rolling over. Liquidity was slow as discussions for ring‐spun 30s, siro‐spun 40s and compact & siro‐spun 40s yarns at previous week’s level. Upstream, VSF prices inched up and producers enjoyed good demand with lower run rates.

The Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations between S.Korea and Central America were launched in September 2015 after the two sides noted a need for a comprehensive free trade pact that will promote trade in goods and services while also boosting their cross-border investment and cooperation.

South Korea to hold a fresh round of negotiations for a free trade agreement (FTA) with six Central American countries this week which will be held in Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras, from Monday through Friday, said the trade ministry said Monday.

As Pakistan’s local textile industry fails to invest in its modernization, lack of product diversity and diversification to explore new exports avenue, bringing it’s share in the international market down which has affected textile exports. In the first 10 months of the current fiscal year, textile exports has plunged by 7.72 percent to $10.395 billion, as per official data.

The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) data showed that textile exports fetched $11.26 billion in the July-April period of the last fiscal year.

Government measures can help build Brand Coimbatore

As both the Agriculture and Textile ministries have an interest in the cotton crop, the Cotton Advisory Board (CAB) has set up a sub-committee that will work jointly to lay out a roadmap to ensure sustainable cotton production, according to a senior official in the Ministry of Textiles.

This follows concerns that actual cotton production could turn out to be lesser than estimates. Industry sources here said that in its previous meeting, the CAB had estimated that the cotton production this season (October 2015-September 2016) would touch 352 lakh bales.
