In Qianqing, PC (65/35) 32s and 45s PC combed yarn prices were both down US cents 2-3 a kg in the last week of June. 32s PV (65/35) were down US cents 2 a kg on the week. In China, there was negligible variation in blended yarn prices, reflecting trends on fiber markets. Demand remained relatively depressed, as usual in this part of the year. Yarn maker could however take advantage of the Brexit vote that pushed US$ up against the Renminbi. As a result, import yarn prices rose and demand from yarn buyers could decline further.
Viscose yarn price declines in China, up in India
In Jiangsu, 40s compact sirospun yarn prices fell US cents 4 a kg in the last week of June while 30s spun viscose in Xiaoshan was down US cents 3 a kg.
Spun viscose yarn markets were generally stable and calm in China, but sale/production ratio remained soft and liquidity lagged. Prices for siro‐spun 40s yarn were down owing to softening of VSF markets for the past few weeks. In Fuji, siro-spun rayon yarn prices were largely stable, but firm orders remained weak.

Toray Industries aims to boost sales in its textile business to 1 trillion yen by around 2020 and has unveiled plans to expand air bag fabric operations toward this end. Toray plans to construct a air bag fabric plant in Mexico, fabric used in automotive air bags and Toray’s first production facility related to air bags in the Americas.
The roughly 10 billion yen ($100 million) plant, which will make everything from nylon fibers to the finished fabric, is slated to come onstream in fiscal 2017. This will increase the Japanese company's output capacity about 20%.

The First Home of India Handloom Brand Products stores are already operational in five major metro cities-- Delhi Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata. As part of its expansion plan, India Handloom Brand (IHB) opened its network in Coimbatore city, said Alok Kumar, Development Commissioner (Handloom), Ministry of Textile, in a release.
IHB has also identified 83 locations to open such stores over a period of time and six stores are successfully functional, selling various products at an affordable price, he claimed.

The Indian Texpreneurs Federation want the Centre to fix export targets for each segment of the textile value chain so that the industry moves towards achieving the 300 billion dollars of exports target by 2024-2025.
In a memorandum to the new Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani, the association said that segment-wise targets will help the industry and the Government identify areas with scope for increase in exports. For instance, Bangladesh was reducing import of yarn and purchasing more fabric.

The onset of good monsoon and Government initiatives, the domestic textile market may grow by 7-8 percent, which was estimated at USD 60 billion in FY17, said Confederation of IndianTextile Industry (CITI) Chairman Naishadh Parikh.
While, the textiles exports, estimated at USD 40 billion, is likely to expand by 5-8 percent this fiscal.
