Caprolactum price climbs on moderate demand and tight supply

Asian markers, the SE and FE were up US$10 a ton in the first week of July. In China, offers for liquid spot were up US$20 a ton while solid goods offers rose US$5 a ton.

Caprolactum prices edged up that week on moderate demand amid tight supply and on back of recovering raw materials market. Spot offers for liquid and solid goods were hiked in China while contract nominations for July were raised by major producers.

Southern India Mills Association (SIMA) Chairman M Senthilkumar thanked the Ministry of Textiles for actively considering the Association plea of selling the cotton only to the actual users and stated that this would bring in stability in the cotton price during the off season.

He expressed gratitude towards Union Ministry of textiles for taking a proactive decision of selling cotton through Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) to the actual users consisting of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) inorder to stabilize the cotton price.

Blended yarn price rises despite low seasonal demand in China

In Qianqing, PC (65/35) 32s yarn prices rose US cents 4 a kg while 45s PC combed yarn prices rolled over on the week. 32s PV (65/35) were stable on the week.

In China, PC prices were seen inching up on the week despite seasonal demand is usually low in July and any attempt to raise prices could be strongly resisted until the month end.

Viscose yarn price gains in India, China

In Jiangsu, 40s compact sirospun yarn prices rolled over in the first week of July while 30s spun viscose in Xiaoshan was up on the week. Offers for ring-spun 40s yarn were up US cents 3 a kg.

Spun viscose yarn market sentiment showed sign of strengthening as VSF prices climbed in China. In Xiaoshan and Shaoxing, spun viscose yarn markets were largely stable and some mills tentatively raised their indications. Ring-spun 30s yarn prices were hiked while 40s compact sirospun yarn prices remained unchanged.
