In Xiaoshan, 30s spun viscose prices in Xiaoshan rose US cents 2 a kg in the first week of September while 40s compact sirospun yarn prices in Jiangsu inched up US cent 1 a kg on the week. Spun viscose yarn prices rose stably during the week in China. In Fujian, offers for siro‐spun 40s yarn prices rose with firm deals and discussions higher than last week. Discussions for ring‐spun 30s yarn also firmed up. The markets were also supported by the elevated VSF prices that week.
Blended yarn price declines in India, China
In Qianqing, PC (65/35) 32s yarn prices declined US cents 2 a kg in the first week of September while 45s PC combed yarn prices rolled over on the week. 32s PV (65/35) were stable during the week.
Blended spun yarn prices were down in China, with import prices however bottoming out during the week. This fall were directly related to fall in cotton prices and stable PSF cost. However, VSF prices were further elevated which provided support to PV yarn market.

Trading activity started improving as needy spinners and mills took part in fresh deals as prices were matching with their psychological levels on the cotton market on Friday according to market sources.
The official spot rate remain unchanged at Rs 5,900, dealers said. In Sindh, seed cotton prices gained Rs 200 to Rs 3100-3200 and in Punjab rates of Phutti were higher by Rs 200 to Rs 2900-3100, as per 40 kg.
In ready business, over 4000 bales of cotton changed hands between Rs 5975 and Rs 6150, dealer said.
