Ivanovo, destination of PET plant signs deal with ThyssenKrupp

ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions signs up a deal to build a PET polymer and staple fibre production plant in Ivanovo, Russia which is supposed to have an annual production capacity of up to 200,000 tons of polyester polymer.

ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solution’s role in the project will include engineering, procurement and supervision of the erection and commissioning of the plant.

The Germany-based multinational firm is working with the Russian company Polyester Plant Ivanovo which is involved in worldwide polyester staple production.

The issue of Indian cotton imports amid undeclared ban is causing a lot of confusion in the market. Floor brokers are showing a sign of resentment. Brokers said that those who have already imported small quantities of cotton from India are currently faced with a situation where they will have to pay freight cost on imported cotton for despatching it back to the country of origin.

Yet , there is steady flow of buying orders from spinners . It has helped the cotton market to maintain overnight prices.

The Karachi Cotton Association left its spot rates unchanged.

With selective buying for quality cotton from needy spinners kept cotton market firm and steady on Thursday. The Karachi Cotton Association officially increased spot rates by Rs50, to Rs6,300 per maund (around 37 kilograms).

However, brokers said that phutti prices came down, with Punjab quality being quoted at Rs2,800 to Rs3,500 from Rs3,550 per 40kg. Similarly, the Sindh variety was also lower by Rs50, to Rs3,250 per 40kg.
