Pure Renewables USA, a Tulsa based longest-established renewable energy installers in the country has turned its sights to Fort Worth to locate a startup textile manufacturing firm. Joy Nunn, founder and CEO of Pure Renewables is looking to lease a facility in Fort Worth’s Alliance development with more than 800,000 square feet to make fibers used to manufacture such things as wet wipes, coffee filters and bandages.

The company is looking at a 20-year lease on the Fort Worth building, located near the Alliance Intermodal facility, but that lease has not yet been signed.

Cotton prices moved higher on Wednesday on reports of Pakistan rejecting a consignment of around 10,000 bales of Indian cotton worth $3.3 million at the Karachi port by the Ministry of National Food Security and Research Department of Plant Protection as it was imported in violation of the country's Plant Quarantine rules. The consignment has to be returned by importers at their cost.

The Union Cabinet to boost the made ups sector which is the second largest employer in the textiles sector after apparel on Wednesday approved a set of reforms, including simplified labour laws and technology upgradation for the made-ups sector which includes products like towels and bedsheets.

The government will provide production incentive through enhanced Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS) subsidy of additional 10% for made-ups similar to what is provided to garments based on additional production and employment after three years.

ASF price rolls over despite weak raw material cost

In China, ASF prices rolled over but went down US$1 a kg due to weak currency in the fourth week of November. Acrylic staple fibre prices were generally stable during the week, despite some hikes in settlement prices.

Upstream acrylonitrile cost weakened, leading to relieved cost pressure. In China, ASF producers enjoyed better profit margins, amid sound liquidity. Downstream demand was sound, so ASF market was still active. Demand is expected to keep steady next week.

In Pakistan, ASF prices remained unchanged as market fundamentals were still balanced.

Acrylonitrile prices plunge in US, Europe

Asian ACN prices edged up US$6 a ton CFR Far East Asia while Southeast Asia was down US$20 a ton in the fourth week of November.

Acrylonitrile prices were mixed that week in Asian market where they tumbled in South Asia and edge higher in Far East Asia with ABS market supporting the latter. Demand was weak in India on low acrylic fibre prices. In China, spot prices were range bound that week as downstream demand was stable.
