U.S. textile and fiber makers see their business finally turning around with shipments of textiles and apparel increasing to $74.4 billion last year, an 11% increase since 2009, when the industry hit bottom during the economic slowdown and also losing market share to imports, according to National Council of Textile Organizations (NCTO).

In China, FDY70D/24F SD prices surged US cents 10-14 a kg in the first week of June, while FDY40D jumped US cents 10 a kg on the week.
DTY prices were also up US cents 10 a kg and 30D/10F climbed US cents 11 a kg on the week.

Monofilament 30D prices rose sharply by US cents 48 a kg while nylon staple fiber 1.5D prices jumped US cents 22 a kg on the week.

In China, spot liquid good offers were up US$100-140 a ton in the first week of June while solid goods rose US$100 a ton. Caprolactum prices surged on back of firming benzene cost and tight supply. In contract, both Sinopec and Fibrant hiked their nominations for June while high‐end contracts were not settled during the week.

The idol was created out of jute in Delhi to create awareness about the ‘dying’ jute industry while also helping in reviving it.

In China, PC (65/35) 32s yarn prices remained unchanged in Zhejiang in the first week of June, while 45s PC combed yarn prices rolled over on the week. PV 32s were down US cent 1 a kg.

Blended spun yarn prices continued to remain stable in China in line with the trends in fibre markets with cotton freezing at the same level for months, whereas PSF and VSF prices have declined. However, PC and PV yarn prices rolled over that week but may move in different directions as polyester use has been rising at spinning mills.
