YKK Corporation will support the University of Fukui’s Fukumira Design Factory by supplying zippers for its display at the “Science: Connecting You to the Future” exhibition. This event, hosted by Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, will be held at Expo 2025 in Osaka, Kansai, from August 14 to 19.
At the Fukumira Design Factory booth, visitors will get a chance to explore a vision of the future made possible by supercritical fluid technology. This display will show how clothing patterns can be erased and then re-dyed into fresh designs using this advanced method. To complement this theme, YKK will provide zippers colored with its ECO-DYE technology.
ECO-DYE is a dyeing method that uses carbon dioxide in a supercritical state instead of water. This allows the dyeing process to use very little water greatly reducing the environmental impact of the production process.
In line with its guiding principle, the CYCLE OF GOODNESS, which believes that mutual benefit leads to shared success, YKK continues to support a more sustainable world by developing products and technologies that are better for people and the planet.
