Yagi to debut innovative textile technologies

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2025-11-24 14:45:05 – Japan

Tokyo-based Yagi & Co will exhibit their innovative Lavatech technology at ISPO Munich 2025, from November 30 to December 2. The company will showcase textiles and products designed to address environmental challenges, health needs and heat-related concerns, mainly for the sports and outdoor markets.

For centuries, the lava rock beneath Mount Fuji has been naturally protected from weathering and temperature changes. Yagi uses this material in its Lavatech technology. By finely crushing the lava rock with a special process and weaving it into fibers, the company has achieved a strong far-infrared effect. This allows the development of products that support blood circulation and help with sleep, beauty and sports-related wellness.

Yagi will also present new materials created in partnership with Bioworks, the developer of PlaX, a material made from polylactic acid combined with a plant-based additive. In addition, the company will showcase Coldveil, a nylon fabric that offers three key functions. With titanium dioxide incorporated into the material, Coldveil provides a cooling feel by absorbing heat, along with heat-shielding and quick-drying properties.
