XTech, the Brescia-based specialist in technical sports socks and apparel, has introduced a new range of performance garments engineered with Fulgar’s Q-Skin yarn to enhance comfort and support early-season activity.
The collection includes high-performance products for cycling and outdoor use, such as technical socks, four-season tops available in both soft and close-fitting versions, jackets, and bib shorts. Each item is designed to respond to the changing weather conditions typical of spring. Aimed at those returning to training after winter, the range focuses on delivering reliable performance together with high comfort.
At the core of the collection is Q-Skin, Fulgar’s polyamide 6.6 fibre that contains silver ions embedded directly into the yarn during spinning. Due to their chemical and physical properties, these ions help control bacterial growth. Since bacteria carry a negative charge and the silver ions in Q-Skin carry a positive charge, the interaction helps reduce excess bacterial presence.
The bacteriostatic properties and wash durability of Q-Skin have been tested and shown to be effective against major Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Gram-negative bacteria including Klebsiella pneumoniae.
For spring and early summer activities, the yarn provides practical benefits. During exercise, it helps limit odour formation and bacterial growth while maintaining breathability, freshness, and comfort next to the skin. These features are especially valued by users resuming cycling or hiking in milder weather.
