Vicunha Textil to partake at Bangladesh Denim Expo

Vicunha is the largest textile industry in Latin America, with more than 40 years of experience in the market has announced that it will be participating in the Bangladesh Denim Expo and it has also created a collection especially customised for the Asian market. With its participation, the company remains committed to Bangladesh’s position as the second biggest denim supplier for Europe.

Thomas Dislich, MD of Vicunha Textil for Europe and Asia said that they recognised the power of the market and Bangladesh’s strong potential very early on. The results are reflected in their success. The country has meanwhile developed into the second-biggest denim supplier for Europe and, within the shortest time, Bangladesh Denim Expo has become an absolutely essential platform for the further expansion of our business relations there. As one of the biggest denim producers in the world, Vicunha wishes to further uphold its pioneering role in the global denim market.

Following the introduction of its temperature control denim last season, Vicunha has continued to expand on the theme and has launched a selection of hi tech and hi performance fabrics. Using hi tech yarns from Nilit it introduced 3 hi tech fabrics with antibacterial, moisture wicking properties and temperature control: Body Fresh keeps wearers fresh throughout the day, preventing the growth of bacteria that causes body odour. Extremely resilient, its antimicrobial properties last for at least 50 washes.

Aquarius with a high-performance yarn engineered to wick moisture away from the body, offers comfort to the wearer that assures a lifetime of effectiveness. The attributes are intrinsic in the fibre, and will not wash off the fabric.

Breeze helps maintain constant body temperature during and after physical performance and hot weather. Use of a special polymer creates soft touch and provides super ventilation. This sector of products is very important for the market as finishing techniques push the boundaries and the consumer demands clothing that performs through the day not just in the gym.

Athleisure complements the thirst for comfort and ease of wear and Vicunha continue with a strong selection of products in various weaves and weights. Hi Stretch and Bi Stretch are still very important. Vicunha extends its offer to include bi-stretches with higher elasticity adding more vintage options.

On the opposite side of performance comes Vintage and Authenticity. Plain open weaves and characterful ring effects offer true authenticity for both men’s and ladieswear, in retro blues and darker deeper dyes allowing a multitude of wash effects, great for looser silhouettes and retro styling. The heavier weights nod to more traditional menswear looks and fashion focused ladieswear.

For years, they have been setting benchmarks when it comes to the sustainability of their products and they are continuing to work on raising their commendable level of proactive environmental protection and social responsibility. The global demand for sustainable products is confirmation that they have taken the right approach. All Vicunha products are made of 100 percent Better Cotton Initiative cotton.

Vicunha has units in the states of Ceara, Rio Grande do Norte and Sao Paulo. Vicunha produces Indigo Denim Fabric, synthetic and natural knits, fibers and filaments. It is among the world’s largest producers and a leader in Brazil (40% of the national production) of indigo fabric.

Bangladesh Denim Expo will take place on May 17-18, 2017 in Dhaka.
