UTO x Santoni
Sportswear brand UTO has strengthened its long-standing partnership with Italian knitting machinery manufacturer Santoni by introducing a new seamless wool base-layer collection developed using Santoni’s latest circular seamless knitting technology. The collaboration combines UTO’s expertise in premium yarns and sportswear design with Santoni’s advanced knitting machinery and product development capabilities.
The latest collection reflects changing consumer expectations, as outdoor and performance apparel users now look for features such as temperature regulation, moisture management, body-mapped comfort, lightweight construction, durability, and modern styling in a single garment.
The main advantage of seamless knitting is that garments are produced closer to their final shape, reducing the need for side seams. This improves next-to-skin comfort while allowing manufacturers to create specialised zones for compression, ventilation, support, and stretch. These benefits make the technology well suited for base layers, sportswear, underwear, shapewear, and athleisure products.
UTO is also expanding its focus on advanced fiber technologies. Earlier in 2026, UTO introduced base-layer collections made with THERMOLITE® ALL SEASON fiber for lightweight warmth and moisture management, combined with LYCRA fiber to provide stretch and freedom of movement. The company reports that more than 30% of its base-layer collection now includes THERMOLITE ALL SEASON fiber.
