Lifewear
Uniqlo has always remained faithful to sustainability and innovation. Over the years the Japanese retail giant has designed clothes in line with a green touch by maximizing its resources and minimizing its use of water. The brand has made the wellbeing of humans and the planet its central focus.
Inspired by Charles Baudelaire’s essay the brand introduced Lifewear, which expresses simple, high quality, everyday clothing with a practical sense of beauty designed to make everyone’s life better.
The collection has been designed by keeping in mind people’s changing needs and the company promises to continue the progress towards something better with Lifewear. The fall/winter 2020 collection features the best materials, modern elegant lines and superior comfort, which is all aimed to provide ease while staying at home or doing daily tasks to support active and healthy living. Lifewear focuses on portraying the innovations that the brand had worked on for many years under their theme of Sustainable Cities, presenting closet staples for the current sustainable urban living.
urban landscapes and architectural aesthetics have inspired Uniqlo’s collection for the Sustainable Cities. Outdoor wear has been tinted with warm autumn colors and highlights coats and jackets that are eco-friendly and temperature-sensitive. The collections aesthetic gel well with the brand’s Blocktech innovations that gives it a versatile piece fit for cold and humid weather.
Their art and design collection is layered with muted blues, grays and neutrals. The collection features garments such as easy suits and sweaters for men and elongated blouses and pleated skirts for women.
They have also launched another theme under the Sustainable Cities called Work and Craft. The line is apt for today’s ‘work leisure’ environment. Unlike the other two themes, this line explores more prints and classic stripes.
Working with global designers is Uniqlo’s key in keeping Lifewear relevant and fashion-forward.
