Trivantage, a leading supplier for marine trim and hardware, has introduced a new version of GORE TENARA sewing thread designed specifically for high-speed sewing machines. The advanced 3-ply thread, made from expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE), allows users to switch easily from polyester or other PTFE threads with minimal machine changes.
Keith Purves, Business Development and Product Manager at Trivantage, emphasized the benefits of the new thread: “The unique construction of GORE TENARA sewing thread extends the life of seams and the products they are used in. It’s also very user-friendly—just load it into your machine and start sewing.”
Tailored for marine use, this thread is highly resistant to UV rays and weather conditions. It maintains its strength even when exposed to sun, salt water, or moisture, making it an ideal choice for items like sails, boat covers, upholstery, cushions, zippers, and clear vinyl.
The thread is made from thermoplastic polymers that match the strength of 2000-denier threads but offer 7% more yield per spool. It features good stretch and flexibility, making it behave like polyester thread with a smooth and soft texture during sewing.
