YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2024-03-13 17:14:09 – Hong Kong

The Trimco Group, a global supply chain platform, has teamed up with Kezzler, a software firm, and Tomra Textiles, a circularity technology firm, to propel the fashion industry towards circularity through a series of collaborative events. Known as Fashion 360, this joint initiative aims to build an international community of fashion industry experts who will share knowledge and insights through workshops. Participants will receive practical advice from industry leaders and tools to progress in their circularity journey.

The main goal of these events is to create a supportive environment for discussing challenges in circularity improvements and compliance, including upcoming EU digital product passport (DPP) regulations. Expert speakers and guest contributors specializing in product lifecycle management (PLM) and extended producer responsibility (EPR) will help participants overcome obstacles and develop solutions.

Camilla Mjelde, Trimco Group's sustainability and compliance director, highlights the complexity of circularity challenges and stresses the need for collaboration among experts, innovators, and suppliers. Fashion 360 aims to establish a global network of collaborators dedicated to advancing circularity principles.

Cyrus Gilbert-Rolfe, Kezzler's senior vice president of retail and apparel, emphasizes the collective responsibility in promoting sustainability within the fashion industry. Fashion 360 represents a commitment to uniting experts and brands to shape future applications collaboratively.

Vibeke Krohn, head of Tomra Textiles, advocates for a shift towards a "New textile revolution," highlighting the importance of transitioning to a circular value chain. Krohn emphasizes the need for regulatory frameworks, infrastructure investments, and robust digital systems to facilitate textile-to-textile recycling and ensure trust and transparency across the value chain.

The collaboration between Trimco Group, Kezzler, and Tomra Textiles is seen as a powerful alliance leveraging their expertise to aid brands in transitioning towards circular practices. Together, they aim to offer an integrated solution addressing transparency, labeling, and digital identification requirements.
